Luz Maria Torres, was born in Morovis, Puerto Rico on November 1, 1947 and went to heaven on September 18, 2023. Luz was a homemaker and had six brothers and sisters; Gloria, Andres, Guillermo, Angel Manuel, Carmen, Edith, and Irma. Luz was married to Wilfredo Garcia Ocasio and they both procreated three children, a son Wilfredo Jr., a daughter Winnie and a stillborn son named, Nelson. Her daughter, Winnie is married to Rafael Torres for 35 years and her son Wilfredo is single. Luz was a happy, joyful, strong woman and everyone loved her. She was a caring and giving person. She helped many people as a translator at appointments, getting furniture, giving food, and helped with whatever else anyone needed. Luz was very empathetic. She also fought for what she believed in. Luz was a Catholic and was a parishioner at St. Leo’s Parish in Leominster, Ma. and her faithful spiritual director and Pastor was Father William Chaplin. Luz went to church almost everyday and she prayed everyday and was very devoted. She loved her family very much, especially her children. Luz raised a nephew, Angel Torres, and a niece, Jennifer Torres, whom she loved very much. She has nine grandchildren and has many great-grandchildren. It broke our hearts to lose her, she did not go alone. For part of us went with her, the day God called her home.
