Elvin Giovanni Torres, best known as Gio, was a husband, father, son, brother & public servant. Gio was born in New York City, raised in South Florida, and moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts in 2012. He attended Miramar Highschool and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Sociology & Hospitality and a BBA in Business Management. He obtained his MBA in 2021 from Fitchburg State University in Business Management. Gio dedicated his professional life to serving underprivileged populations like the homeless, at-risk youth & elderly/disabled. Most recently, he became the Division Director of Day Habilitation & Family Supports for The Arc Opportunity in Fitchburg, MA.
Gio is survived by his wife Cristina Pimentel Torres, their son Emilio Rey Torres and Miloh, his American Bulldog. Gio is also survived by his mother Grace Janina Del Toro De Los Santos, (her husband and his step-father) Juan Fransisco Morejon; brother Brian Andres Torres, sister Janina Faith Morejon and brother Jayden Faith Morejon. Gio’s biological father Elvin Andres Torres Suazo, and his wife Maquise De Torres.
Gio was a loud and proud Gator Alum, and a Lamdba Theta Phi latin brother. He knew every 90’s & drill hip hop song by heart especially anything Tupac, Kodak Black, Lil’ Wayne & Young Jeezy. Gio’s latest & greatest accomplishment was being a dad to his son, Emilio Rey. Gio loved to travel and try new food experiences. He also loved history, martial arts (Jiu-Jitsu) and was passionate about human advocacy.
On May 28th, 2022, Gio & Cristina celebrated their official nuptials at Dreams Punta Cana in their homeland of Dominican Republic.
