Ana Teresa Taveras

Ana Teresa Taveras (94), better known by family and closed friends as “Mama Lesa” was born on October 15, 1924 in Tenares, Dominican Republic. She immigrated to the United States in 1985. She passed to a better life on March 28, 2019 at 2:58 am in Lawrence MA. She is survived by 8 children, Baudilio Gomez, Ylma “Milagros” Santiago, Bernardo Gomez, Antonia “Celeste” Pena, Elena Camilo, Luis Taveras, Luciano Taveras and Gilberto Taveras, 35 grand children, 59 great great grandchildren and 4 great great great grandchildren. She is going to be remembered by everyone for her lively sense of humor and for calling everyone “Pariguayo.” She never forgot her small house and neighbors in Curva Dura, Tenares and yearn of going back there again. When people said to her: Mama, you look beautiful today. She will grudgingly respond, “Huh, when have I been ugly?”
